The Treasure Island Technology Center operates out of the Ship Shape Business Assistance Center, located at 850 Avenue I on Treasure Island. The Tech Center is a collaborative effort of the Treasure Island Homeless Development Initiative (TIHDI) and Good Neighbors of Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island (GN).
The Tech Center was created as a result of TI residents expressing the need for computer classes .In addition, TI has gone Wi-Fi! As a result, TIHDI and Good Neighbors have decided that there is a great demand for a Technology Center on Treasure Island. To help bring this idea to fruition we partnered with TechSoup Global.
The goal of the Tech Center is to help bridge the digital divide on Treasure Island, to enrich Treasure Island residents quality of life by accessing the world wide web and, help residents develop computer skills that will empower them both personally and professionally.
